Getting on an off a breeze. Well organized and very efficient. Crew was outstanding. Many made the effort to talk with my wife and I using our names. Most professional! The food selection, presentation, service and personal attention by staff was outstanding, including from the buffet Lido Restaurant to the extra charge Pinnacle Grille. Ports of call from Maine to Montreal were interesting and offered a wide selection of interests. Traveling in the Spring of the year was pleasant--flowers, trees in bloom with fresh foliage. The Fall season must be spectacular. Inside cabin on promenade deck was convenient and an excellent value. Our dining preference and timing did not lend itself to take in the shows and we skipped that opportunity. We met many interesting and friendly fellow cruisers and enjoyed a relaxed atmosphere on the Veendam. Only had to tender once which is not our favorite activity.

The captain had to turn the ship around after leaving Bar Harbor and sail back to port because of a medical emergency. This did not delay our arrival at the next port-of-call. Overall, Holland-America just does everything right!

Enough room. Three closets. Convenient to promenade deck for exercise and walking. Very quiet. Stored suit cases under the bed.
