There were still lots of people on this cruise who had funny tummies based
Sydney Opera House.
Brilliant napkin swan.
Heading ashore at Isle of Pines.

We arrived in Sydney the day before our cruise was due to depart. We stayed at the Royal Automobile Club on Circular Quay so we could see her as we had breakfast.

This was a slightly apprehensive meal because we woke to see our ship on the morning news with ambulances waiting quayside to take sick passengers to hospital with Norovirus or possible injuries from a "freak" wave overnight.

Boarding took ages. We arrived at the scheduled time but clearly we should have done what everyone else did and go straight to boarding at our earliest opportunity. That is probably very bad advice....

Cabin Review

Superior Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D2

The room was reasonably proportioned and had a balcony with two seats and a table. It was separate to the adjoining room next door but the kids didn't seem to want to hang with their olds so all was well. The shower worked well and we had no problems with plumbing. I understand why you might want a suite with more space, perhaps for dining but your cabin is a place to sleep, shower and dress with a balcony for Champagne and views. Lots of storage space and a minimum of clutter. The TV worked with some rubbish shows and the occasional watchable movie although room service ordering didn't for a day or two.

Port Reviews

Sydney (Australia)

Sydney is Sydney. If you can't have a good time in Sydney it's because it's after 6pm and you're in the city or you don't know how to use the Internet to find a restaurant, bar or other activity. There are beaches and ferries and a zoo and a Bridge you can climb and some of Australia's best restaurants all within five minutes walk from the ship.

Isle of Pines (New Caledonia)

Tropical paradise beach. Lie down on one and close your eyes and you could be anywhere. Or stay onboard and a nice man will get you a drink with an umbrella.
