Having wanted to cruise from Amsterdam to Bucharest for several years, we investigated several companies and chose Scenic because it appeared to offer an excellent service, wide range of excursions and, importantly, was all inclusive. The latter appealed enormously as we knew we would not be liable for an expensive drinks bill and tipping at the end of the cruise.
This cruise became our 50th wedding anniversary present to ourselves and we could not fault in any way the service we received. I travelled with a mobility scooter. All staff went out of their way to assist us when leaving and returning to the ship which was an enormous help.
From the moment we stepped onto the ship until we left we were looked after in every possible way as expected on a luxury cruise. Our cabin, was large, well equipped with the cabin attendant maintaining it to the highest standard throughout. Dining was one sitting, with a wide choice at each meal. Guests in some cabins had the option to dine at Table la Rive and Portabellos once during the voyage both of which very enjoyable. There was also a cafe area providing snacks, cakes and ice cream all day as well as light lunches.
We had one of the two best cabins on board and were impressed with the standard of fittings and fixtures. It comprised a sitting area with balcony, bedroom area which could be screened off, a large bathroom with wet room shower and separate toilet. The space was huge and with large picture windows on two sides we had expansive views of the scenery.
We liked the shower wet room with two showers which was in addition to a hand held shower over the bath.
