Our second cruise with Thomson Spirit following last year's cruise in Eastern Mediterranean and cannot believe some of the negative reviews we have just read about the Spirit and this year's Western Mediterranean cruise!

Compared to the shambolic airport and embarkation and disembarkation experiences in Cyprus last year the whole process at Malaga was superb. Very attentive and helpful Thomson personnel at Malaga airport and transfer and embarkation staff at the port meant we were on the ship less than an hour after our plane landed.

Yes the ship is an 'elderly' lady but it has a 'family' feel about it which is largely due to the friendly crew from officers through to those responsible for the most menial tasks. Having booked the same cabin we had last year we were greeted by our two cabin stewards Lana and Yasser (he remembered us from last year) and they did a great job in looking after us throughout our two week cruise. The cabin was clean and really quite spacious with ample storage (hanging and drawer) with regular changes of bedding and towels, plenty of hot water at both sink and shower, toiletries etc. The cabin is after all only used to sleep and wash and dress in or occasionally rest up after a hectic day ashore.
