This review will cover both segments of the back-to-back cruise we took beginning 5/12 in Vancouver. A little background – DH and I are regular Celebrity cruisers with this being our 30th and 31st. We have cruised other lines a few times but much prefer Celebrity. We are youngish seniors (early to mid-60’s). This was our 5th time sailing to Alaska.

Embarkation: Very smooth. We were able to go to the Elite Plus line, but we did not see any long lines. We boarded around noon. Because this was the first cruise after a refurbishment, we were able to go to our rooms immediately, which is not usually the case.

Cruise demographics: We were a bit surprised that this varied quite a bit from the first cruise to the second. On our first, 8-night cruise north, I would estimate the average age was older than us – perhaps early to mid-70’s. On the second cruise, a 7 day, we felt we were at about the average age. On both cruises we saw a few infants/toddlers and a handful of other children.

Cabin Review

Ocean View 6

Cabin 06

No issues with this cabin, although we prefer balconies for the extra space, including the illusion of extra space that the balcony glass doors give you. The bathroom wall with the vanity was slightly shorter than most due to what appeared to be a post or something in the corner, but this was no big deal. There are inside cabins throughout the hallway which resulted in more passenger door slamming during certain times of day (particularly morning) but overall for an OV cabin this is in a good location and was in decent condition.
