My husband and I were looking for a reasonably-priced getaway and got a great deal on this NCL Epic Med Cruise. The ship was beautiful and despite the fact that it was sold out, we never felt crowded or waited for anything. Restaurants and shows always had seats, the buffet was plentiful and well laid out, and public areas were spacious. The ports were wonderful and getting on and off the ship was easy (even in Cannes where we tendered). Be warned: WiFi (and internet access in the Library) was terrible! We purchased the unlimited package and quickly requested a refund; internet appeared to be an issue (and time waster) throughout the cruise and there was always a slow-moving line of guests complaining to the internet manager. We ate mainly at the free restaurants and buffet; food and service was very good. American Express provided us with a complimentary dinner at Le Bistro and it was excellent; we highly recommend this restaurant. We did not purchase any of the ship's excursions. We used RomeInLimo in Rome, Share a Shore in Naples and Livorno, and Provence Connection in Marseille and got great tours at very fair prices. In Cannes, we took the little white train and then walked La Croisette; we had a wonderful day. In Barcelona, we took the on/off bus and had a very nice tour. Altogether, we had a wonderful trip and were able to easily stay on budget while creating wonderful memories and enjoying new places and experiences..

Cabin Review

Family Mini-Suite with Balcony
Cabin M3 13044
The cabin was roomy with tons of storage and a relatively large flat screen TV. While the bathroom layout is unconventional, it was wonderful having the large tub/shower. Balcony was large enough for two chairs with small tables; I would have loved to have a chaise. The bed was so comfortable! The mattress provided really good sleep.

After much research on Cruise Critic, we decided to take the Petit Train de Cannes (the little white train) tour of Cannes. We really enjoyed it. The train was at the end of the dock waiting for us and gave us a great tour of the city. After the train tour, we strolled the La Croisette people watching and taking in all of the sites. It was a beautiful and relaxed day.

We found our private Pisa and Florence Tour on the Cruise Critic Roll Call, A ship guest had set up the tour on Share a Shore and we were delighted to join this customized, wonderful day at a unbelievably low shared cost, The driver was terrific and the van clean and well appointed, Our first stop was Pisa; we were early and so had the site practically to ourselves. Next up was a tour of the countryside on the way to Florence. Once in Florence, our driver gave us an overview and orientation and then we all split up with directions to meet at the appointed time for the trip back. The service we got from our driver was nothing short of amazing, Since we were the only ones who wanted to see The David, the driver then drove my husband and me directly to the Accademia, negotiated our way through a very short line and waited directly outside for us. He then drove us to a monastery with amazing views of Florence, took pictures for us, and we were lucky enough to be able to enjoy the Gregorian chants. He then drove us on a short tour, and dropped us off with instructions on crossing the Ponte Vecchio, seeing the Cathedral and Piazza della Signoria and meeting the group for gelato and the trip back to the boat. Share a Shore and our wonderful driver made the day really special,

We have been to Naples several times in the past and enjoyed Sorrento and Amalfi, Pompeii and Herculaneum, All were wonderful tours but we wanted to try something new. I contacted Share a Shore and set up an excursion to Grotte di Pertosa and Paestum. We had a wonderful day with our driver Franco. We were in a very high-end, late model Mercedes sedan which made the driving comfortable and easy. The ancient Greek ruins at Paestum were beautiful and it was easy to be immersed in the history. Our trip to the caves of Grotte di Pertosa was also wonderful. The caves are lovely and we enjoyed both the walk and the boat ride. All-in-All, we had a superb day and are so glad we arranged this excursion.

Since we were embarking on our NCL Epic cruise from the Port of Rome, we arrived a day early walked around the city and then arranged a private tour with transfer to the Port using RomeInLimo. We had a wonderful day with our RIL driver Enrico. Since this was our fifth trip to Rome, Enrico made it his personal challenge to use our time wisely and to show us sites we had not seen before. We were blown away by how much Enrico taught us and all of the new sites he showed us beyond those we had requested (the Baths of Caracalla,in Rome and the Etruscan ruins nearer the port). Enrico managed both traffic and time masterfully and we arrived at the ship having had an amazing day of new sites and fun.
