We chose this cruise because it was recommended by a friend who did the same Baltic cruise last year. The Eclipse is a beautiful looking ship. The stateroom was good, and included a balcony. It was kept spotlessly clean. The toilet paper was horrible.
The navigation lecture was excellent as was the glass blowing. The entertainment was excellent until the last night. The Beatles Tribute band were talented musicians but couldn't sing!
We found the constant background music whilst on deck very irritating. All we wanted to do was read in peace.
My husband found the Moonlight Sonata menu very repetitive. However, we thought that the food in the Ocean View Bar was very good.
A major disappointment was the lack of a shuttle bus when we got to Stockholm. We queued for over an hour and got the 'hop on, hop off bus' and visited the ABBA Museum but we were so concerned about getting back to the ship on time after the worryingly late return from St Petersburg, (we got back five minutes before sailing) that we went straight back to the ship and didn't go anywhere else.
We enjoyed the late night dancing in the Sky Lounge.
The trip to Copenhagen was another disappointment. We saw the Little Mermaid and the Palace and whizzed past everything else. No chance to even get a decent photo of Hans Christian Anderson. Went to the Village of Dragor when we would rather have had time in the city.
I went to a lecture in the beauty salon but the price of the facials was extortionate. I had a lovely facial before I came away from home and it cost £32.00. The salon wanted over £100!
The shop prices were also extortionate.
The service was very good. The cleaning staff were very friendly and any problems were dealt with straight away.
The Captain gave a lecture and was incredibly knowledgeable, which was a comfort!
