We stayed in Vancouver for two days prior to our cruise. The city is very clean and an easy to walk to the many tourist attractions it has to offer. We took the free bus to Grouse Mountain and the views over the city and snowy mountains was fantastic. The ski lodge and ski slopes would be a great sight in winter ski season. Stanley Park is a must see, and the Sky Tower as well.
The cruise on Celebrity Millennium didn't disappoint. Within an hour of arriving at the dock we were walking around the ship with a drink in hand checking the ships layout. We had an Aqua Class Cabin, 1141 aft. Our steward, Peter, was great. Our room was always clean and tidy. We dined in the Blu restaurant for breakfast and dinner. The food and service was great, and hopefully, we will do Aqua again.
The ports were all much the same, surrounded by snow topped mountains, and the buildings looked like they were from a movie set from the early gold rush days. All freshly painted for the tourist season. One of our highlights was our train ride to the Yucon mountains with a stop at the dog sled facility in Skagway. The trainer did a presentation there and it was fantastic, especially when he set up the dogs, and sled, for a run. The cruise was like a river cruise as we were always between mountains and islands. Our visit to the Hubbard Glacier was an experience not to be missed. Absolutely awesome, the weather was great, and as the naturalist said, only a couple of days a season you would get a perfect day like this. After leaving Hubbard we cruised across the gulf and again the seas were calm.
Aft cabin...perfect views and location
Fantastic City
We walked around the town
Again, we took a short bus ride to the town for a sightseeing walk
We walked to the salmon cannery museum and then watched the zip riders come down from the mountain. Then we walked thru the national park.
We rode the gondola up the mountain. Great views of the port and surrounding snow capped mountains
