We did consecutive cruises on the Star. First 7 day to Norway May 17 then 9 day to Baltic May 24.
Was pleasantly surprised. Food was decent but buffet noise level was deafening and it was often very crowded so didn't eat here often. The food was pretty decent and service in Versailles was good and in Moderno was excellent.
The ship seemed in excellent condition and very clean. The staff in the buffet area clear used items quickly and are very efficient.
We found all the staff to be very cheerful and very helpful. Loved Captain Mattias and his little chats every day - he gave lots of interesting information.
Norway is simply beautiful and we enjoyed every port - same with the Baltic, Stockholm and Helsinki would like to spend more time in. We did not do any ship sponsored excursions. They are very expensive and the St Petersburg private one we did was half of what Norwegian charged.
The shows were mostly very good except for some of the guest entertainers - left the 4 stations early, didn't go to see Andy Bunger after his short appearance at the intro show and skipped the Spanish dancers after seeing their sampling also.
This is an intensive cruise and the 2 sea days were much appreciated.
This was an excellent holiday
This is a lovely large room with floor to ceiling windows - was a treat to stay here with only 2 people
We took a private excursion on a boat up the fjord.
Our only rainy day so we took the hop on/off. If not for the rain this is very walkable and pretty
Climbed the 418 steps up Mt Aksla for incredible views of the city
