Embarkation was quick and easy with only a medium queue to deal with. We got to our cabin, the bags arrived and we went up to the lounge for tea and sandwiches. We knew the ship as we had cruised on her last October. Our stewardess from that cruise greeted us in the corridor and we find that most pleasant.

The cabin was equipped for 3 beds so we had good storage drawers and wardrobes and the A/c did what we asked of it. We had chosen a cabin on main deck as it is so much easier as lifts are not needed for the restaurant and its location was just fine. We are in the main restaurant seated in the window and on first sitting we had a good view and this was so good when we were cruising the fjords. The table waiters were v. pleasant and quickly learnt our preferences. We enjoy having fixed tables as we can share what we did with the others as we get to know them and compare experiences. The food was really good with a very good selection each night. We always took breakfast in our cabin, however, as we like a slow start to the day. It was always on time with our choices on the tray.

Bergen was busy and we heard a band playing on the quayside while we had a coffee. The weather remained largely grey and rain came later. We didn't venture far into Bergen as we don't like to go far from the ship, as a rule.
