We started in Seattle, where we were bussed to Vancouver. Very poorly organized. Our bus was supposed to leave at10:00AM from Seattle Airport, but 2 people were late for no good reason and we did not leave until 11:00AM We then had a delay of 2 hours at the border into Canada, because 2 people (maybe the same) were detained by Customs, The man had a criminal record (US Citizen) and did not have the proper documentation to cross the border. HAL should have checked that. We were given no water, until I asked the driver if he could stop so we could buy some water. He then told us I have water on the bus. HELLO!! This was at 2:30 PM.
We finally arrived at the ship at 3:30PM, most passengers had not eaten since breakfast. The food at the Lido Deck was never hot. Even in the dining room the food was never hot. The Overall service average. We did the land trip also, that was okay. Alaska is very beautiful, but when we do this trip again we will not do it with HAL.
It was very difficult to try to get something to eat from the Lido Deck late afternoon, unless you like Hamburgers, you could get Hamburgers outside on the deck. There was one event we really enjoyed on this ship. The two Polish ladies playing the Grand Piano and Violin between 5:00PM and 9:30PM. That was very enjoyable.
Our Neptune Suite was okay, although it needed some upgrading. The table on the Veranda was in bad shape. We had 2 cabin Stewards, they were okay,
We have been in Vancouver many times, it is a wonderful City.
Nice little town, but it rained all day.
