Carnival needs to get it together; too short staffed.

This was our second cruise on Carnival, we sailed last year same time on the Glory and couldn't say enough good things about that ship, that is why we booked again with Carnival. We were seriously disappointed with our cruise this time around.

ROOM: Room was great location, a balcony on Deck 7 and no rooms across the hall, very quiet. I was not extremely satisfied with the cleanliness of the room, I had to wipe down the shelves in the bathroom bc there were rings of scum where previous guests belongings were. The toilet was also dirty with a mold ring inside. I was aware before we sailed that we would only have once a day steward service. We managed ok with 4 people in the stateroom, but it was much more enjoyable with service 2 times a day. As far as a I know this is the only cruise line that has changed to once a day service.

Dining: We had any time dining for the first time on Carnival and it was terrible! You had to wait in long lines to be seated and if you wanted to eat when they opened you had to wait in line 45 minutes before opening. Once seated it took forever to get your food, we spent 2 hours or more each night at dinner. Yes, we complained many times to Sasha the assistant Maitre D, who could seem to care less and just offered the excuse, we are very busy. The only time we saw the Head Maitre D and complained suddenly our food flew out to the table. My kids had the soda plan and could not get a soda served until halfway through their meal and if they wanted a refill that was not happening. We asked other cruisers that had set dining times how their service was and it was almost as bad. Breakfast was just as bad, anytime you showed up during breakfast hours there was a line wrapped around the outside waiting to get in. Then service took forever at breakfast as well. Once again complained to Sasha, same response, we are very busy! They only had the bottom floor of 1 dining room open for breakfast, which was crazy to me if they had such long lines. It seems they have cut back majorly on staff and can't handle the amount of guests on board.
