We chose Britannia because we had not been on it before and we wanted to see what we felt about it. It was going to the Canary Islands to some places we had not visited.

Embarkation was a breeze, we arrived at the port of Southampton and were on board in 15 minutes. We had priority boarding fortunately and as the shed was full of people I would think they would have to wait a long while to board.

We went straight to our cabin on E deck and had a good look around. It was a balcony cabin and seemed smaller than ones we have been in on other ships. The balcony was very small and cramped with two chairs and a small square table. The chairs had to be positioned slanting and not facing forward. The cabin was spotlessly clean. The bathroom was another area where they seemed to have reduced the size although there was a big improvement in that the shower cubical had a door rather than the horrid plastic shower curtain. It was impossible for two people to use the bathroom at the same time when getting ready to go out.
