A good cruise overall, with a few areas that can be improved on.

We chose this cruise as my wife had always wanted to visit St Petersburg, and we have always liked Princess.

We had arrived on an early flight from London and took the train to Central Station and then a taxi. Cost for two train tickets plus taxi was DKK 272 or $42. A taxi all the way would have cost about DKK 350 or about $53. Princess offer a transfer for $39 per person.

Embarkation in Copenhagen would have been smooth, but we were delayed by about 45 minutes as I had recently visited West Africa (I answered the question on the health form truthfully) and this threw a spanner in the works. We waited for a paramedic to come, he asked a few questions and then went back to speak to the doctor. Eventually I was let on board but it was a nerve wracking time.

Cabin Review

Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin MA

We had mini-suite 415 on deck 10, more or less midships, so the walk to the restaurants was short and to the theatre not much further. Deck 10 was about right, but anything midships which is higher than deck 12/13 could be viewed by people walking across the glass-bottomed walkway on deck 16 (they make a lot of it but it really is nothing special).

We love Princess mini-suites - and on the Regal they have a curtain divider that separates the sleeping area from the living area - a very nice touch. Bathroom and storage space are good, there's a decent sized tub with a shower over it. The mini-suites also have two high definition screens which have a great choice of recent films that can be viewed at any time, though the live TV channel choices are extremely limited.

Port Reviews

Oslo

Short walk into town. Attractive city, worth a ride on the Metro too

Berlin

Warnemünde is nice and a short walk from the ship. For €2 you can take the 20 minute train ride into Rostock, and it includes a tram ride at the end. Trains go every 15 minutes or so
