We've enjoyed several cruises on other lines from large to smaller and enjoy the smaller ships more. This cruise was among the very best:
Ports: great choices and sufficient time with good tours and local guides;
Sailing: the most sailing occurred at night while sleeping and our weather was good so the travel was smooth and comfortable;
Accommodations/room: we were midship and found the ride and room more than adequate for our comfort. We enjoyed the balcony when the temperature warmed up.
Staff: room steward - excellent and not intrusive-very pleasant
waiter/dining steward - far exceeded our expectations and we made a point of sitting at the same table because of our dining steward.
Management:Hotel and Dining managers made themselves available and welcomed us every day (by name). They demonstrated a style of management that stressed guest priority and that permeated the entire crew.
We had a couple of hiccups with some transportation due to walking challenges, but for the most part our challenges were addressed adequately to provide a wonderful sightseeing and sailing experience.
Tour Directors: Both were exceptional at striving to make everything happen seamlessly. I found both more than willing to assist in arranging whatever we wanted.
Lectures/Entertainment: We found the entertainment enjoyable and the Lectures about the area were quite interesting and well prepared.
Fitness area: this is where this ship is inadequate. The fitness equipment (such as it is) is not maintained and located on a deck subjected to wind and weather. The choices of equipment is limited and shows the effects of weather. It would be ideal to move the equipment to a room elsewhere in the ship and try to maintain the functionality.
The cabin was well maintained and adequately appointed. We enjoyed the balcony (as the weather permitted). The steward was excellent and quite friendly and available and not intrusive.
