Carnival Cruise on Triumph, June 12-19,2004
Flew nonstop to Ft. Lauderdale -arrived at 9 am. We didn't think there would be any Carnival Representative on duty until after 10 am, but to our surprise a representative met us, we got our luggage and he took us to a more comfortable lounge to wait until other later flights came in. We got on the shuttle bus to take us to the Port of Miami around 11:30 am.
EMBARKATION - Got to the pier around 12:15 pm- the bus driver unloaded our luggage, we gave our bags to the pier porter to take on ship (normal tip is $1.00 a bag). They have huge crates that when they get full the porters take them on board for the room stewards to take to cabins. Luggage usually doesn't get in room until later that eve. (ours was in room by 7 pm). We got in the fun pass line, took about 35 minutes - lines move pretty fast, get sign & sail card (also your room key), had pictures taken - we were on the ship by 1:20 pm. Went to cabin to unpack carry on luggage then to the Coney Island Grill - steak sandwiches are delicious!!!
