My sister and brother in law planned this trip for our family, including 8 children 9 and under. Embankment was smooth, but we left port over an hour and half late, making us the late at every port. Our room was nice, but we do wish we had paid more for a balcony for the view during this cruise. The things I did not like about this cruise line are: 1. There were so many extra expenses after the initial payment. We had to pay to get to and from the cruise dock, Sodas were extra ($2 a pop), if you wanted steak at dinner, it was $20 extra, and two of the restaurants on the ship cost money to eat there. Ridiculous, I felt swindled at every turn. 2. We were late to arrive at EVERY port, and not just by 30 minutes or so, it was hours! We waited for 2 hours to get off at Juneau because we were late to the dock and had to take tender boats ashore. When you only have a few hours at each stop, you do not want to waste them. In Skagway, Ketchikan, and Victoria BC we were able to dock right at shore but we still arrived so late. When you plan on tours and excursions, being on time is necessary. 3. The buffet lines at breakfast and lunch. We often could not find a place to sit during these times and had to walk around the Lido deck several times in order to sit. Then we had to wait in line for 15 to 20 minutes to get any food. It made meal times very stressful. 4. Child care on this boat was very frustrating. The times you could bring your kids was sporadic and they didn't serve lunch, so you had to pick them up for that. We had two children under 2 and the times the child care would take them was very very limited, only a couple of hours in the morning and late at night. Not at all conducive to excursions or dinner time, times when you would like to leave a little one. 5. Hardly any children's activities or family oriented ones. Overall, I was very disappointed in Carnival Cruise line and will certainly not use them again.

I will never sail Carnival again
