Hubby and I chose the southern cruise route to celebrate our 36th wedding anniversary. We arrived two days before our cruise so we could enjoy some sightseeing. We stayed at Marriott Stellaris Resort. Our ocean view room was very spacious and had everything we needed for comfort. I loved being able to wake up in the morning to look out at the ocean.

There are plenty of restaurants in walking distance; Walgreens and CVS are a short walk away. We dined in the hotel restaurant one night; it was buffet night. We had good service, the food was delicious but we both felt it was a bit pricey.

Old San Juan, which is breathtakingly beautiful, is a must visit. Be sure to wear good walking shoes, as it is really hilly, especially at the forts. It’s a 0.75-cent bus ride from the bus stop in front of the hotel. We enjoyed lunch at a little place called Casa de Cortes Choco Bar; it is a chocolate lovers delight. The Crepe Maker, which was about a block away from the resort, was a surprisingly delicious dinner choice also. There are many different varieties of crepes to choose from. There was nightly entertainment in the lobby that helped amp the vacation vibe.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin E1

We loved our room, it was clean and comfortable. Although it is close to the elevators we rarely heard any noise from the hallway. We had a very nice room attendant. We would stay in that cabin again.

Port Reviews

St. Maarten

We love St. Maarten! We didn't do an excursion but we did hit some of the shops and had a nice lunch at The Barefoot Restaurant. Yum!
