This is a new ship, launched in 2016, and the design for river cruising is perfect. Our group of six shared ideas one evening on how we would have designed the ship to make it better, and we had zero ideas; the ship was perfect. Our cabin was very well designed, very clean, with high quality bath products a bonus. The crew was extremely well trained and executed perfectly. Very friendly, professional staff without exception. Our group had no bad experiences of any type on the boat.

Food was better than expected, rivaling the best we have ever had on any cruise we have taken (river or ocean). The excursions were all good, some better than others, but all good. The cost is slightly more than you might find, but well worth the cost especially when you consider that wine and beer is included at dinner. Avalon has my highest recommendation.
