We have been on a number of cruises in the caribean, but had not experienced the southern Caribbean so this one fit the bill. We got into San Juan a day early and wished we had even more time there. I was a little afraid of this trip since so many people had said that it was getting old and needed refurbishment. Sure there were a few more scratches than usual on our cabin furniture but everything else was in good shape.
We really enjoyed the food in the dining room. The cruising was nice and smooth, the captain did a great job. The entertainment was a little laking. There was a semi broadway type show on the 6th night, but the rest of the acts on this cruise were sub par. They said this was the first week for the new show. That didn't help us any. since we spent our days in the sun and we were tired it did not bother us as much as if we had done regular touring during the day.
It is due to go to dry dock in Nov. but I wouldn't hesitate to go on this ship. It is still in very good shape and I would go again in a heartbeat. I really enjoy Royal Caribbean and I have been on most of the others that serve the caribbean.
We enjoyed the promenade room. The window faces the center of the ship with the promenade down below. We could look down and catch the action without going down and being in the middle of it. The noise was not bad since we were on the 8th floor and the noise did not really travel up to our room. There does need to be an upgrade to the furniture because it is looking a little worn. These bathrooms are a little tight, but the sliding doors are better than a shower curtain. Our room was midship and near the elevators
