If you've never been, treat yourself and go to Alaska!!! It is so incredibly beautiful!!! It's just breath-taking!!! Make sure you have a lot of space on your memory stick on your camera or cell phone!!! We went on the first cruise of the 2016 Alaska cruise season on the Carnival Legend and cruised the Inside Passage of Southeast Alaska. It was our second time on the Legend and ninth cruise with Carnival. As usual, the Carnival staff were so hard-working and friendly; and the Legend is such a beautiful ship. We used an independent company, Alaska Coach Tours (alaskacoachtours.com), for our excursions in Juneau, Skagway, and Ketchikan. Great tours, super friendly and knowledgeable drivers/guides, less than what cruise lines charge, and no crowds. The only downer was the airport in Vancouver when we flew from Seattle to Vancouver at the end of the cruise. The arrival/immigration area is very busy with hoards of people and it's extremely confusing if you need to connect to another flight, especially another flight within Canada (we're from Ottawa, Canada). There are long lines and there aren't clear signs initially. Give yourself more time is the best recommendation I can make.
