Emerald Dawn Cruise Review by GT2016
- Sail Date: April 2016
- Destination: Europe River
The cruise was flawless, no low or high water problems, each stop on time and the weather was great except for a few rainy days. The included tours were all good, and if you wanted you could just go off on your own.At some of the stops, there was a lot of walking on cobblestones, which I could see was a problem for some people. Even though people are told of this ahead, it hard to imagine what its like until you do it for several hours. There are optional extra tours that you have to pay for, but there is no pressure to do so,
The only "complaint" (and this has nothing to do with Emerald) is that at some of the stops, there are several ships--Viking, Tauck especially, so the little towns can get a bit crowded with groups all going to the same places.
Entertainment is limited (compared to the mega cruise ships) and the lounge area gets a bit loud when its full.
The food is good, plenty of choices and nicely presented.
