We chose this cruise as our daughter wanted to visit Venice and Rome and was finding the cost very high for flights and hotels and we suggested a cruise as we'd been to these destinations before and really enjoyed them, we stayed in a hotel at the airport the night before as they are early flights and it gives you an extra evening of holiday, the flight was very short which is great couple of hours and you're in the sun, and the transfer from airport to ship is very quick too. The ship was smaller than ones we've been on before but size isn't everything on a cruise as it just means more people to queue behind. The entertainment was okay, we've seen much better on other P&O ships, but it was nice to see the odd show, the comedians were good and the musicians were good too. The food was good, sometimes it was cold and had to be sent back which was frustrating, but overall it wasn't too bad at all. The cabin was nice, we always have a balcony or outside which was really nice with the destinations, our daughter had an inside cabin but for the time they spent in it, it wasn't worth paying the extra for more space. We paid extra on the Black tie nights to eat in the nicer restaurants, which was nice but so many people could just walk through and it did make us feel like we were in a corridor, not nice really, although the food was great. We never do excursions as they are far too much money when you can always find your own way about, as long as you remember to get back to the ship with plenty of time as it will leave without you.

Port Reviews

Venice

We always do our own thing, excursions too expensive, love Venice so much to see and the food is lovely.

Kotor

Really lovely place to visit, there isn't a whole lot of things to do, but it's very pretty and the food and service is fabulous.

Corfu

Lovely shopping, great people, worth a visit.

Rome (Civitavecchia)

You really need to have more than a day to visit Rome from Civitavecchia and as we have been so many times before we decided to just chill out and relax walking around the town instead of rushing off on the train to Rome, it was great, had a lovely walk along the water and had a fabulous pizza and wine just in the centre.

Monaco (Monte Carlo)

Have heard so much about this place, we went to the aquarium which was lovely, visited the shopping area, which was a bit disappointing didn't see a load of designer shops ready to have a spend, it was very busy and noisy but the view from the ship to the other ships and boats was great.

Genoa

Didn't get to see much as it was an early flight back but have been before and absolutely loved it.
