We wanted to do something different and the Panama Canal cruise sounded ideal.
We have travelled with Celebrity on several occasions including a previous trip on the Infinity. This one did not disappoint. From the moment we checked in (which was quick and easy) to the minute the cruise ended we had a great time.
Although the ship is no longer new it is well maintained and still has an air of elegance.
The crew are as friendly and obliging as ever and the on-board entertainment was supurb.
The transit through the canal was spectacular and the presence on board of an expert podium speaker enhanced the experience. We had an inside cabin on deck 3 which was very comfortable.
The food on board was well up to the Celebrity standard but we were disappointed that Celebrity no longer have the formal nights. Evening Chic is not quite the same!
The activities staff were excellent, in particular, Jessica and Ritchie who provided us with some memorable and funny moments.
The ports were fascinating and there were shore excursions to suit everyone.
The only down side was the DVD of the cruise which we purchased. The editing was poor and in fact one of the ports was left out completely. However, this is a minor complaint in the overall scheme of things.
Would we do it again? Yes.
Would we do it witch Celebrity? Yes.
Good size, well appointed, and well maintained
Again stayed within the confines of the port but this was very good. The little shopping village was great and the marimba band (make sure you ask for the free Cd) and the local fashion parade was both colourful and entertaining.
We stayed within the confines of the port and visited the shops of there were quite a few to choose from.
Gave us a good overall view of Cartagena and the monastery was very interesting. Very pleased that we did it.View All 22 La Popa Monastery Reviews
We caught a local taxi to the Malecon and walked along the beach stopping at one of the many watering holes for a $1 Corona and Margarita. Visited the cathedral and the Naval Museum which was excellent.
Walked into town and spent several hours soaking up the atmosphere and shopping.
we both thought Cabo San Lucas was excellent.
The review written for Puerto Quetzal is the one that I wrote for Puntarenas. I got the two mixed up.
