We have been on many cruises with many cruise lines, and we actually really like Carnival. It is the fun ship for a reason. We enjoy the comedy club, the laid back environment, and the non-stop activities. However, this last sailing on the Valor was just awful. The air conditioning was broken in our cabins (and then we were called liars by customer service when we went to report it...a third time), the entertainment was the WORST (one stage show and the rest was just nothingness, the food was unimaginably awful, and the cigarette smoke...

Okay, let's talk about the smoke. Carnival was a leader, years ago, with an entire smoke-free boat. Now the smoke is so thick on deck 5, that your clothes and hair will smell simply walking through to the comedy club. Forget about even trying to get into the casino to play cards, the air is thick with black smoke. It is awful. People smoke on their balconies - even though it is against policy. Carnival doesn't enforce their policies, so people light up. There was nowhere we could go to get away from the awful stench of cigarettes.

Speaking of our lovely fellow passengers. They were rude, loud, belligerent, angry, and mean spirited. At one meal, the woman in the booth behind us was vomiting all over her table after a fun filled day drinking. The people across the hall played music all day and night...and into the morning. People screamed up and down the halls all night long. Security is an absolute joke. We would have escaped to our balcony, but alas we were surrounded by smokers. We like to drink and have fun - but we are considerate of our fellow passengers!!! Read more
