The Norwegian Peal has very small rooms and the ship needs to be refurbished badly. The bath sinks are cracked and equipped with kitchen faucets. Large paint chips were sheering off the pipes into the floor on the balcony, and it was never cleaned up. My daughter's room had dirty socks under the bed and used soap in the shower when we boarded. (She has little kids and tried to put suitcases under the bed to save room). The food in the Indigo Dining room was horrible. It is the first time in 35 years of marriage that my husband asked for the food to be returned. The fish was so overcooked, it was like rubber and he could not cut it. I can honestly say I have been on about a dozen cruises, and this food was the worst ever. The Tempenyaca restaurant was the only highlight of our week - as far as food goes. Much of the staff was dismissive and inattentive. We tried to look up excursions on one of the electronic boards and the shore excursion staff asked us to move because he wanted to use it. We didn't book another excursion after that. The internet was the worst ever. I never got it to connect to my email (work or personal) and even though I was online and trying to use my minutes at the end, they turned my service off. The TVs are also tiny. We had a balcony room and a 15" tv. That was shocking. They did play a few good movies during the week, but if a caption appeared, we could not read it on the small screen. The daily newsletter advertised a two hour t-shirt sale in the gift shop, but didn't say when. We went to the gift shop to ask and were told that the t-shirts would "come up from 4 in an hour or so if there are any left." There was no t-shirt sale. Ketchikan was our favorite port and we only got a few hours there. We had a long day in Juneau and there was not much we wanted to do there. The Splash Academy Staff was great with the younger (3/6) children.

Cabin Review

Family Balcony

Cabin B3

Of all the cruises I have ever been on, this cabin was the smallest. It smelled old and had very dated carpet. The bedding was nice. The TV was a 15 inch. Too small to enjoy. The blackout drapes had lots of holes in them, and it looked like starlight.

Port Reviews

Victoria

We were very disappointed that our ship docked at 6 pm (first and only time they docked on time) and about half of the shops downtown were closed. It is a beautiful city, but they definitely do not cater to tourists.
