Let's start with what we liked because it's the shorter list. The dining room food and service were great. We would have been pleased to have found the Michelangelo as a local restaurant. The excursions were fantastic. I can't really give Princess a lot of credit for this one since they merely hire independent companies and act as the intermediary. We did the whale watching and Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau, the White Pass and Yukon Railroad in Skagway and finally the Misty Fjords and Wilderness Explorer in Ketchikan. All were great but the Misty Fjords were just beautiful.

So the bad - on a 7 day cruise we had 3 mornings in which the toilets in our section of the ship had blocked lines and were not working. Again, 3 out of 7. Certainly an issue that they need to address.

Out of their control but still worth noting was how "choppy" the first at sea was. We initially had reservations for the Crown Grill and decided we were too nauseated to possibly consider this. We decided that fruit and bread from the buffet would be a better choice. On our way there we passed a swimming pool which more than illustrated the reason for the nausea. Two-thirds of the pool water had sloshed out of the pool and the remaining one-third still generated "waves" that were 6 feet above the pool deck. When we left dinner the crew had emptied the remaining water and was in the process of covering the top with netting so no one would fall into the big pit.

Seattle

We didn't book anything through Princess but had been to Seattle numerous times beforehand. We did a food and cultural tour of Pike Place Market and the Boeing factory tour (both booked through Viator). We also did the Chihuly Gardens for the first time and were quite impressed.
