As first time cruisers, we were both a little hesitant as to whether the cruise would be full of 'oldies' as some had said......SURPRISE !!!! Even though hubby is 72 and I am 67 we absolutely loved it. The age of passengers ranged from 1 year olds up to 93 years young. We met some wonderful people and made life long friendships (and they were all much younger than us.
The food was lovely and varied and always plentiful.
The Waterfront Restaurant was nice for a change, however the meals were very small and we found ourselves returning to Plantation for a 'top up'.
A super comfy bed with heaps of drawer space and wardrobe hangers,. The shower was larger than we expected and the water pressure was great.
Am glad we had a porthole / window as I did see the inside cabins and felt this was not for us as they were very dark.
The most blue and clearest water I have ever seen, along with the pure white sand.
We did a tour on the Chou Chou train and purchased our tickets whilst onshore. A very informative one and a half hours.
A real eye opener when disembarking to see all the 'taxi' drivers touting for business. We bartered with a driver for a days tour for four and it cost us A$140. Well worth it as we toured through a local village, went swimming at a local beach, had coffee at a local plantation house and shopped in Port Vila as well as driving around to admire various parts of the island. An excellent days outing and then explored the markets which are situated by the boat. Mainly souvenir type items and the local children singing Maori songs for donations.
We werent very impressed by this island. We had a swim however the water was somewhat murky so didnt stay long.
