Cabin: Grand Suite

This was my fifth Carnival cruise and it will be the last. Two days before we left for the cruise, I received a call to upgrade to a grand suite from a balcony room for $800, and I took it since there were 4 people in our cabin. This was my sister's first cruise and I wanted her to have a good time. I think it may also be her last. There were 8 of us altogether.

We were priority AND faster to the fun. We were to board at 11:00 a.m., but there was a problem with customs from the previous cruise. We were able to board at 1:00 p.m., after waiting around in the terminal...which is precisely why I got FTTF. I understand that sometimes things happen that are beyond anyone's control, but there was not so much as a 'sorry'. Carnival employees in the terminal were downright rude. We all looked forward to this vacation since October of last year when we booked it.

We were late setting sail from Miami for whatever reason. I never heard why. We all had drink packages that we paid just over $400 for. So. I drank too many Long Island Iced Tea's, couldn't find my room and lost my sign and sail card. Security caught up with me at Guest Services where I was getting another card. I don't normally drink liquor and these baby's are tricky. Security took me to my room, locked the balcony door (was supposed to be unlocked by 10 a.m. the following morning, but was not until closer to 4 p.m. the following day, because it was broken) and the mini bar. I didn't even know about the mini bar until the next afternoon, I had been done drinking and wasn't planning on raiding the mini bar. I get it- policy and procedures must be followed, especially with the things that have happened on Carnival ships recently. My drink package was suspended...again policy and procedure. I get it. They said I did not get aggressive, and I wasn't hurting anyone...it was just for my SAFETY.

Nothing at all could ruin Grand Cayman...still my favorite island by far.

Cozumel

Went to Caribe Cozumel. A very nice resort, but a little pricey. Probably a tourist trap, but very nice.
