My husband and I took this short cruise to experience the new ship. We have never been on such a large cruise ship before. Check in at Southampton was smooth, straight through to the check in desk and on board within minutes after that via the red carpet! We thought we would head off to the windjammer restaurant which was totally manic, after visiting the new hand wash stations we soon found a seat and got a hot meal before heading off to explore.

The ship truly is beautiful with many places to enjoy a drink and a chat with fellow passengers. The indoor spaces were quite busy but once the sun came out on the last day the situation eased somewhat. The entertainment was great on the first night, and we thoroughly enjoyed Grease the next afternoon. I plucked up courage to go on the zip wire, the staff were very professional and safety conscious, and it was a great experience.

The balcony stateroom was kept lovely and clean, with the occasional towel art to welcome us back in the evening. The only thing it lacked was tea and coffee in the room. We ate 3 nights in the American Icon Restaurant on the early sitting, food was wonderful as were the staff. We also ate at Wonderland, which was amazing. After all that good food a trip to the gym was in order, it was very well equipped and I soon got rid of those extra calories. Plenty of clean towels abailable and hygiene wipes to clean down the machines after use.

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D4

Plenty of space in here. Extra large bed. The shower was larger than we have experienced on the Exlplorer. Only thing missing was a kettle lol.

Rotterdam

No tour was taken but there was a courtesy bus to the town centre which worked well
