Friends invited us to join them on this Transatlantic cruise, I am usually a loyal Celebrity Cruise Line cruiser - this was the 3rd trip that I have sailed on RCCL. The Navigator is a beautiful ship, well maintained and the open concourse is beautiful - a much smaller version to the open concourse on the Allure of the Seas. The smaller size is somewhat of an advantage as it takes relatively little time to travel from the front of the ship to the back of the ship and the new electronic navigation devices near the elevators made it so easy to find any venue on the ship.

We had a room at the front of the ship with windows just below the ships bridge - sort of like riding shotgun in a car! Room was slightly larger than the ocean view rooms that are located on the sides of the ship. Friendly, efficient room attendant (Marcelino), he kept the room in an immaculate condition, twice daily ice delivery.

Great food in the Sapphire Dining room (My Time Dining), excellent service! The Windjammer Buffet had an excellent salad bar and outstanding curries, the service level was great always someone from the wait staff offering coffee, tea, juice, water. Tables cleared in an efficient manner, only very few times when one had to search for a table.

Cabin Review

Oceanview Stateroom

Cabin I

Great room, room larger than a normal ocean view room located on the side of the ship, front facing below the bridge of the ship. Very little noise from the hallway as there are not many rooms facing outwards in the same direction as the ship is travelling. Lots of storage room, only disadvantage was that you could not have the window shades open after dusk as the light emitted would impact the vision from the bridge, other than that a great view during the daylight hours.

Room attendant was excellent, very efficient and friendly,

Port Reviews

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

Flew into Fort Lauderdale at 1:30 AM - slept and went to cruise ship later in the AM. Embarkation was strange as Diamond and Suite Guests had to wait longer to go through the line than other travellers. There was only one person processing the guests who had preferred boarding status as opposed to seven or eight people processing other guest. Their line up was only about five long, our line up was over 10 - a problem as there were not as many employees processing the preferred status line.

Ponta Delgada

We rented a vehicle with two other friends and had a private tour of Ponta Delgada - total cost for the car rental was slightly less than $40 USD. Great port of call, the lakes were exactly as described - one green and one blue. Roads are very windy and narrow especially when faced with oncoming traffic - beautiful island.
