I chose this cruise for several reasons. It was a multigenerational trip which included my 87 year old mom, my brother and my 20 year old daughter. The trip was a Mother's Day gift to my mom. The destination was not important to her as much as getting a cruise experience.

Bermuda is a wonderful destination because it's English speaking, it has excellent public transportation and unlike many Caribbean islands there are no hawkers bothering you on the beach. I knew it was a safe location for my inexperienced traveling family members to explore on their own.

The Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) reviews I had read were average so I set my expectation at that level. I would say NCL Breakaway exceeded my expectations. For embarkation, I requested wheel chair assistance due to my mother's immobility. This service is wonderful and it helps elderly individuals feel welcome to the cruise experience.
