If you are full time cruisers, boy do i have some information for you. We just did a 7 day cruise to alaska, and we got surprised by new policies. 1. You cannot remove the gratuities from your bill, on ship and pay cash like we do. Now you get a form to fill out after you leave ship to e mail to their home office and you might get reimbursed. 2. You cannot cash a travelers check at the office for cash. You can put the money in your account and then they will charge you a fee to get cash. 3. In room breakfast is only sweet rolls-coffe-tea served from 6am until 10am. If you want fruit-juice-eggs with your breakfast you are charged $7.95 from 10am until 6 am you are charged $7.95 for all room service orders. 4. The food in the garden café is the same everyday (a lot of pork) and it is never hot. 5. On sea days there were no activities to do. 1 trivia-buy jewelry-buy paintings. the movies that were shown were sci-fi or cartoons. THE TV CHANNELS WERE 5 NEWS-4 SPORTS 1 TV SHOWS 1 CHILDREN SHOWS- 1 MOVIE CHANNEL ( 5 MOVIES REPEATED OVER & OVER.) 6. Thresholds at inside doors are a problem to get over in a wheelchair. there is no way to get near the front row in the showroom without using stairs. People who can’t see good need to be close to the stage. we didn’t get to see any of the live shows. 7. We cruised on this line last year and we didn’t have any of these problems. The new policies are geared to nickle & dime you to death. i can see that this cruise line will be getting only first time travelers, as the travelers learn from others what is going on and to go to other cruise lines. So if you are planning a cruise and like the new policies then norwiegen cruise lines are for you.
