Have given this very good based on food quality (which in fact was excellent), cleanliness and friendliness of service (practically all the staff went the extra mile). The entertainment was pretty good too as were most of the many shore-excursions which we booked. You will enjoy this cruise I think.
We did have one or two reservations, however. One of our shore-excursions in St Petersburg was very rushed in order for our guide to fit in an un-scheduled stop at a tourist shop! Our complaint to the shore-excursion team fell on stony ground and resulted in them telling us we had half an hour longer in the museum than we actually had! Another St Petersburg trip got back so late that we had no chance to get ready for our (Magellan-organised) evening ballet trip. In stead of any apology it was announced rather officiously over the tannoy that 10 minutes more was the most they would allow us to bolt our meal.
Our cabin was clean and efficiently maintained but could have done with a deep clean (back of bathroom door had old splash marks) It is probably ready for a re-furb (thin towels, tatty bad-cover).
A word of advice - if you visit the medical rooms be prepared to pay. I went hoping to buy some throat lozenges and ended up with a bill for £140!
Embarkation went very smoothly but disembarkation was partly shambolic. Our names were mentioned over the tannoy as needing to go and settle our final bill. This was embarrassing and untrue and again no-one saw fit to apologise.
