We did a "American Queen Steamboat Company" Cruise- New Orleans-New Orleans on 5/8/2016. The 8th included the Hyatt Hotel and on the 9th we boarded the Boat.
We have been on many cruises both big ships and river cruises, in and out of the USA. This cruise is at the top of the list. The staff goes out of its way to please you. The food is fabulous. You have wine and beer included and they have food out 24/7. They have included tours everyday or you can pay for an upgraded tour. We didn't feel that was necessary for us to do.
The boat is done in old Mississippi decor. The rooms are well done, just wish they had a clock in the room. We were in room E208 with a bay window. It was very comfortable and the bay window was big, so our view was always great. With hardly any traffic on the river we left our blinds open all day. I don't care for the balcony rooms on this type of boat because they actually open on the walkway with two chairs and a small table. People are always walking by, but that may not bother some people. As you do get the chance to say hello and meet a lot of passengers. The entertainment is excellent. I give them praise for a great job.
Our room was very clean and comfortable.
