I choose this cruise for a college graduation gift for a family member. We booked two cabins and were limited on the cruises available out of Ft Lauderdale/Miami area for the specific time of interest so due to the constraints we sailed with Norwegian at this time.
The ship is new, decor beautiful, clean overall no issues with quality. One of my biggest disappointments were no quiet areas to really relax - always music streaming in all lounges/outside venues/deck areas. Many activities were an additional cost as well as multiple restaurants that were included had additional options to pay for upgraded meals which previously been included in the dining rooms... room service was additional charge per order... all prices seemed quite inflated including gratuties - gone are the days when this was not so.
Most paid restaurants seemed quite empty at various times of peak service which seemed people weren't willing to pay additional fees. Overall food quality was very good, buffet with good selection, staff friendly.
Very small, really lacked storage space, no drawers to put clothes, shelves very shallow could not really place things on shelves properly without falling off. Closet very small. Bathroom adequate, shower stall with glass enclosure much nicer than a curtain, ample room to move around for the average sized individual in the shower. I've cruised many times and this had to be the worst cabin design.
Would suggest finding your own excursion on shore. Found a great cab driver that spoke english that took us to the ruins, he was knowledgeable and did not mind the many questions we had.
Found our own tour guide that took us to the ruins, overall good experience.
Found our own cab driver - overall o.k. but major language barrier, scant info given and certainly not a guide.
walked around the port, overall o.k. if you like to shop - whatever you do never pay retail price, always barter! It was fun and challenging :) Organic tequilla I would highly recommend.
