We probably took this cruise at the wrong time of year for us as we will explain further on, but certainly learned from the occasion.

The trip was at Easter and took in Barcelona (embarkation), Tangier, Canary Islands, Madeira and Malaga.

Embarkation was very smooth and quick. We arrived a little early but were aboard within 45 minutes of check in opening, even though we had to go through the obligatory process of staged photographs before making our way aboard. Cabins weren't ready until around 1400 but we were allowed to leave our things (water etc) outside our cabin door before exploring the ship.

Cabin Review

Aft-Facing Balcony

Cabin B1

Great cabin, although furniture veneer was broken at ground level. Shower (nice and big) and w/c was no problem for us and there is a dividing curtain between this area and rest of cabin if you need it. Plenty of storage space. Did not like small sink as forever mopping up water after shaving or washing, but not a deal breaker. Some vibration and noise when docking but nothing to complain about. Nice quiet area and no outside noise at night. Layout not quite right as we never used the sofa. Nice to have the bed near the balcony.

Port Reviews

Barcelona

Always plenty to do and see. Never get bored here.

Tenerife

Easily reached by foot. Some interesting parks and museums.

Madeira (Funchal)

Again easily reached by foot. Took a tour bus including ride in cable car. Good value for the money. If tired when returning take a Tuk Tuk ride back to ship from the promenade for just a few euros.

Malaga

Enjoyed here the best. Take the transport coach from the ship to the town centre, but buy your ticket before leaving the port building! An interesting mix of old and modern to walk around.
