This was the most incredible itinerary! My husband, two daughters and their husbands, and I arrived in Copenhagen two days before sailing so we could explore the city. We stayed at the Airport Hilton which was great as it was a very easy walk from the airport to the hotel. Our rooms were very quiet and comfortable.

We reserved a van to take the six of us to the port on Sunday, May 8, for embarkation. Our embarkation was very easy and quick. We like the Star because it is a smaller ship. We had the ultimate dining package so most of our meals were in the speciality restaurants. Le Bistro and Cagny's were our favorites. We do not like the Ala Carte dining - we can dine at restaurants on land with prices on the menus! Part of the "cruise experience" is dining in the MDR or paying a flat charge for the speciality restaurants. Ginza, the Asian restaurant, was a disappointment now that it is a "no charge" restaurant as the menu is not the same. The "hot rock" meal was very good but there is a charge for it.

This was a port intense cruise for us - getting up early and walking, walking, walking - so we didn't take part in many activities on board the ship or stay up late clubbing.

Cabin Review

Garden Villa

Cabin S1

The Garden Villa is fantastic! It is similar to a small apartment with three bedrooms and a common area. We used the hot tub on the lower patio daily and used the upper patio for the sail aways and sometimes for entering the ports. The butler for the two Garden Villas, Roy, was superb. Roy anticipated our every need with professionalism and enthusiasm. It really was wonderful to have breakfast served in the dining area before our tours in each port. We all enjoyed the snacks Roy had waiting for us when we returned from the tours. Leonardo, the steward, was the best. He kept the Garden Villa spotless!
