This was our second cruise on Anthem, chosen on this occasion because of the itinerary including Bermuda, which has been on my wife’s “bucket list” for ever (more of that later) our first trip on Anthem having been in May of 2015 out of Southampton, and then, as on this occasion, dogged by poor weather for a chunk of the cruise.
Embarkation in Bayonne (who’s only grace is having good views of NYC’s skyline and Statue of Liberty) was seamless and despite my failing to print one of our Sailaway Passes was handled with no fuss at all. I guess we were on board with 15 minutes of our car dropping us at the terminal.
With only the one ship to handle on the day the only delay was the inevitable volume of traffic bringing passengers to the port and once kerbside everything was super smooth.
This should have been DO, because we had the running track overhead and support stancheons to the sides - other than that this cabin felt smaller than previous, had adequte storage space and provided a reasonably comfortable environment. Beds felt tired and prehaps need matresses updating.
Handling first class, but there is NOTHING at the port.
Torrential rain and gale force wind - go figure.
Not enough time in port to really make anything of the stop other than a bit of retail therapy.
