We chose this cruise because of the excellent reviews Viking gets. As good as the reviews were, we were still blown away by how good the trip was. We were picked up at the airport by a very friendly Viking rep and taken to the ship for a very easy boarding. We were treated like they were genuinely glad to have us on board. None of the crowds and chaos of a large ocean cruise ship.
The cabin was very small, but it was nicely decorated, extremely clean, and quite comfortable. The floor to ceiling window opened if we wanted and we never wished we had more space. The most amazing thing was that it was the most quiet room I have ever had, on a ship or otherwise. I never heard other passengers and I could not even tell that the ship was moving without looking out the window. Even though the room was very nice, we didn't spend a lot of time there because we were having too much fun on the shore excursions or in the common rooms with other guests.
The food was consistently excellent, with plenty of choices. We had a tour of the kitchen and it was the cleanest kitchen I've ever seen. The chef was very entertaining. He said that he often buys fresh food while we are in port, to get the freshest supplies and also support the local businesses. I like that.
Quite small, but very comfortable and very quiet. Nice amenities and an excellent TV.
