This was my 7th cruise overall. The previous cruises were 4 with Royal Caribbean and 2 with Princess. The only reason we chose this cruise was because the original ship we booked was still uncertain renovation and dry docked. So the cruise was cancelled 3 weeks prior to sailing. My family and I were limited to our choices so we decided to try carnival splendor.

It was a terrible cruise from the start. We waited 3 hours to board the ship. On their website it doesn't give you any receomndations on when to board or when the best recommended time to arrive at the terminal. All of the passengers were complaining about the boarding process. Painfully slow. Then we got to the stateroom and their was a very loud banging noise in the room that would come and go throughout the day and night. We were on deck 8 and I complained 3 different times to customer service. The first 2 complaints nobody even showed up to investigate the noise. By the 4th night My family and myself had had enough. So I went to claim for the 3rd time and insisted that they call someone as I wait for them to call so I know the issue was being addressed.

We returned from our all day excursion to receive a message with an apology say g there was nothing they could do for us because we were located under the pool equipment room and they would credit us 20% of the cruise per family member. It's not about the money. It's the principle. When you go on vacation the objective is to relax and enjoy your down time. 6 sleepless nights and that's all they can do is shrug there shoulders and say oh well sorry for your luck? That's ridiculous. Terrible customer service. Fix your stuff or don't book those rooms that are effected.
