Left from Fort Lauderdale. Had a problem the night before. My purse was snatched while I was walking from my friend's room to my own. They got my money, credit cards, check books and personal items. Thankfully my Passport was in my suitcase. I had a safer purse to switch to once I started cruising but I should have used it in Fort Lauderdale. Thankfully my friends lent me cash and my sister put onboard charges on her credit card. My knees were banged up a little but I was not seriously hurt. Not a good experience and I have spent alot of time getting everything straightened out. Obviously they just wanted the money for nothing else has been used, thankfully.
Embarkation went smoothly. We took a shuttle from our hotel and went through the process rather quickly. Then went to the Lido deck for lunch. Our coming on the ship group picture turned out fine. Our luggage arrived fairly quickly and we unpacked and got ready to go. We had 4 Superior Verandah Suites together and they opened up the verandahs so we could easily move back and forth. We were upgraded at the last minute for a little more money and the rooms were very nice and comfortable. I loved the separate shower and whirlpool tub.
The first stop was at Holland America's "Half Moon Cay". It was a beautiful place. We opted for the clamshells and they came in handy. We took the eco-lagoon tour and really enjoyed it. The grilled/BBQ lunch was good and everything was immaculate. We could have stayed for days.
We had no cabin problems. There was plenty of room. The stewards were great and the bathrooms were really large. It was very convenient to the Lido Buffet and pools.
