An area that we had looked forward to visiting and past reputation of Viking helped us decide to register for this cruise. However, we never sailed and instead were stranded in a remote location on the river.

We don't fault Viking for high water conditions on the river; however, they were aware of the "no sail" order before we left home and chose not to inform us until we were on a bus enroute to the remote docking with no cell service available.

All excursions were attempted by bus on curvy mountainous roads with long rides and shortened enrichment times. If we needed to use the inadequate restrooms (without toilet paper on one stop), we missed a large percentage of the tour. Consequently, we had little time to enjoy life on board. Read more
