I wanted to try a river cruise for many years. We found a great first cruise with Viking (Lofn). It was so nice to have an intimate environment with less passengers than an ocean cruise. The ship was only three decks - a perfect size. The inside cabin was small but comfortable. I wish I could have brought the bed home with me. The dining room staff were always making sure that the food was prepared exactly the way we wanted. When I was too tired to go to the dining room they brought a wonderful meal to our cabin.

The embarkation and disembarkation was the smoothest I've ever experienced. Terrific personal service by all the crew. We enjoyed all the included excursions, they gave a great overview of each port. I enjoyed the entertainment on this cruise much more than the entertainment on my last ocean cruise.

We can't wait to take our next Viking river cruise in December - we're hooked!
