I'm an RCI Crown & Anchor Platinum cruiser who's also sailed with Holland America, Princess, and Carnival on everything from 3 to 10-day sailings on over a dozen trips. Our family is generally the easygoing type who overlook the small things; we all agree that if we take the time and spend the money to travel, we should make the most of everything to appreciate and enjoy our trips! Sadly, this was by far THE worst cruise our family has ever taken.

ONLINE PRE-REGISTRATION: Disappeared. I completed it for our party of 3 along with handicap accessible assistance weeks in advance. Just by chance, happened to check a few days before the sailing, and it had disappeared! RCI tech support told me they "migrated to a new system" and my username, password, and registration info were all lost. Had to start over from the beginning.

EMBARKATION in GALVESTON: Miserable. We arrived at 12, did not get on board until nearly 3pm. Exceptionally rude Intercruises Port agent Jane bullied my 81-year-old hearing and vision impaired mother. She, my mobility impaired 84-year-old father, another mobility impaired guest in his 90's and I were forced to wait over an hour for their "one and only working dog" to sniff 2 registered and documented oxygen concentrators. Is that poor dog being overworked to the point of abuse? Had to wait in RCI handicapped line another hour+ while we watched EVERYONE else in all other lines, including crew & staff, be checked in before us. Missed lunch but not the obligatory muster, of course.

Cabin Review

Superior Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D2

Very small, not clean, paint chipping in places. Good storage space and nice balcony. Confirmed bed configuration was wrong; requested handicap toilet riser and shower seat missing (until requested). Room not vacuumed. Cabin attendant was very sweet and likable, but seemed terribly overworked.

Port Reviews

Galveston

Disorganized to the point of chaos. Intercruises Shoreside & Port Services agent was exceptionally rude, RCI check in for handicapped guests was so slow that all other guests in other lines as well as staff & crew boarded boarded before us. Total waiting time nearly 3 hours, missed lunch.

Cozumel

Shopping area at end of pier has merchants who are quite aggressive. However, we did enjoy delicious nachos and excellent table service at a nice cafe in a corner of the mall, thank you!
