We have been on the Dawn before and we have done this itinerary before, but we were looking for a nice relaxing cruise and this was it. We loved the Dawn the first time and nothing changed with this trip. The staff was terrific all around. We even ran into some staff from the previous time and this was great. We simply can't say enough about how we love NCL. We were in an aft facing penthouse for this trip and having the extra room as well as some of the amenities was really special. Most of the time we ate in the main dining room and, if anything, the food was better than the last time. We never had a complaint there or in the specialty restaurants. Cagney's has really outstanding steaks, but my favorite place was La Cucina, where I had an Osso Buco that was to die for. The entertainment was OK, some better than others. We have already booked a cruise on the Pearl for next year and we purchased two "Cruise Next" down payments.

I am sure that Freestyle Cruising isn't for everyone, but we love it. We can dress up if we want to or not, depending on our mood and what we have done for the day. We have always found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. We read a number of poor reviews before this cruise and we really wonder what ship they were on. Do not go on a cruise and expect gourmet food at the buffet. The food at the buffet is good, fresh and varied. There are enough complimentary dining options that you have to be able to find something you like.

Cabin Review

Aft-Facing Penthouse with Large Balcony

Cabin SF

Very nice cabin with a really comfy bed. Nice sized bathroom with a dressing area. The large balcony was a real joy, especially in the morning with a cup of coffee.

Port Reviews

New Orleans

Love NOLA and there is so much to do and see here.

Grand Cayman (Georgetown)

The best thing about this port is swimming with the stingrays. What a hoot.

Roatan

Great place to go snorkeling.

Belize City

Do the cave tubing. It is a blast

Costa Maya

not much to do here but relax.

Cozumel

Very pushy vendors, but a great place for last minute souvenirs.
