Sail Date: May 2016

The ship was very clean and well maintained with the exception of some leaky plumbing on deck five port-side. We chose the last balcony cabin because, it was the only stateroom available. We booked this cruise because of the turmoil in Europe. We were originally booked on the Vista from Athens to Barcelona, continuing on to NYC, for a back to back. We have sailed on the Legend before out of Tampa. We found our room steward to be a hard working can't do enough for you kind of guy. I do feel twenty-seven cabins is a lot for his crew to take care of twice a day plus all the calls he handles from his cell and ship requirement. Room stewards are sometimes called to the dinning room to help the wait staff.

Now the issue for our party was, the wait staff. With very few exceptions, they didn't seem to care how long or what order you came into the dinning room, they let us sit without refilling our water glasses and not even offering coffee with dessert. I had the feeling they didn't care about the passengers. The Maitre d' was around the dinning room all day long but, he never stopped to introduce himself or chat with any of the passengers. I'm thinking this could be the service problems mentioned earlier.

We have also noticed a let down in the food quality as well, maybe trying to get people to go to the pay restaurants. We boarded the ship in a new thirty minute window, why I'm not sure. It didn't seem any faster. We did the Missouri Battleship and the Arizona tour through Carnival. You should do this on your own and have more time looking and less time waiting for the bus! Great trip, we rented cars at each stop. We disembarked in Vancouver in zone #19. What a joke that was, disorganized, luggage everywhere intermixed with other zones. I think Vancouver needs to come to Port Canaveral for training. As Platinum Carnival cruisers, we expect more and seem to be getting less all the time. I must give a shout out to" V" from The Red Frog and Maria one of the hostesses from the main dinning room.
