This was my 36th cruise and I regret to say when we started cruising the service and food on all the ships (not just Celebrity) were a lot better than they are today. I have to get out of the past and accept the fact that all the cruise lines have a bottom line to meet and cruising will never be what it used to be with the mass market ships. As I always say there is no such thing as a bad cruise only a better cruise. Last year we cruised on the Millennium in Asia and found their service and food better than on the Constellation. Everything is relative and this is my own personal opinion and many people on our cruise had a different opinion. The ports were excellent but I was disappointed they didn't have any lectures or enrichment activities.

This cruise had an interesting itinerary and for the price we paid and additional perks we received from out TA it was an excellent value. Our embarkation and disembarkation were very organized and we never had to wait. Our outside cabin 3132 was close to Guest Relations and the location was convenient to the elevators. Since our cabin was considered aft it was easy to get to all the restaurants very quickly. We had a huge round window that made our Oceanview cabin feel larger than it was and I will always try to get one of these cabins when sailing on M Class ships. Our cabin was always clean and we didn't have any problems. The Med was very calm which made for a pleasant cruise experience.

We didn't take any ships tours but the private tours we booked with other Cruise Critic friends were beyond our expectations. I was disappointed in the dinner we had in the Ocean Liner Restaurant and did not think it was worth the extra money. I loved the ambiance and decor of the restaurant but the service was not as good as most of the specialty restaurants I have had the pleasure to dine at. We selected anytime dining and only had to wait two evenings for a table so it was a good choice. Cafe al Bacio's Caffe Latte was absolutely delicious and the Cafe was my favorite spot on the ship to meet friends and relax in their comfortable yellow high backed upholstered chairs. Their specialty desserts were the best desserts on the ship and we found ourselves skipping dessert in the dining room and enjoying dessert in the Cafe in the evenings. The food in the MDR was average and I found the quality to be inconsistent. Escargot was on their appetizer menu each evening and I ordered it every night, delicious! I am a soup lover but their chilled soup wasn't very good and their other soup selections weren't very creative.
