We were confused as to why the ship rocked so much even in very calm waters. I usually don't get seasick unless the waters are very rough but I was nauseous most of the time on board. I was very thankful for stopping at a port a day just to pull myself back together again. We were with two other couples one of which was their first cruise. Needless to say not a good first impression. My friend was sicker than I was. I assured her that it was very usual for a big ship like the Caribbean Princess to rock and roll so much. Our cabin was towards the back (A723) which at first I thought that may have been the reason of feeling so much movement but it was all over the ship, plus I heard quite a few other passengers mention the constant rocking of the ship. To make matters worse in our cabin behind the TV there was a tapping within the walls and the more the ship rocked the more it tapped. The same thing in our friends cabin which was right next to ours. We spoke to a supervisor and he said he'd look into it, it was still tapping the last night in that cabin. Needless to say there where not many nights that we had a good nights sleep.

With that being said the ship looked was very nice and all the staff we came into contact with was always pleasant and helpful. Our cabin stewart, Kennedy, was very attentive and always had our cabin cleaned and supplied with anything we had asked for. The International Cafe was one of our favorite spots to get good coffee and some great cookies. It's worth the $25. coffee card if you enjoy coffee and specialty coffee's. We also enjoyed the pizza very much and we're originally from NJ & NY so that's saying a lot. The burgers weren't very good though.

We tried the Personal Choice Dining and didn't really care for it. We enjoyed having the same servers every night so much more. By the second day they would know who liked what and when. We won't ever do the personal choice dining again. As far as the ships food, just ok. The desserts looked nice but most had no flavor. Nothing is really memorable except the specialty restaurant Sabitini's"s was awesome! The food and the service was wonderful. There were 10 or 12 courses, all you really had to pick was your entree and the servers just brought out a little of everything else. It was well worth the extra $20. per person. The Crown steakhouse was pretty good. Two of our group had some tough porterhouse steaks. The rest of us had filet which was very good.

Cabin Review

The cabin was smaller than on other ships but the closet area was large. The balcony was nice. If only there wasn't that annoying tapping in the wall behind the TV!
