As cruise virgins we were looking for a shorter itinerary with plenty of opportunity for shore excursions. This 8 day Fjords cruise proved ideal. Everything from embarkation, through port timings to disembarkation ran to time. The scenery was stunning and we greatly enjoyed our time ashore where we certainly got our steps in. We did not buy any of Celebrity's excursions.

As vegetarians we found it best to eat in the Ocean View Café (buffet) for most of our meals where we were able to find enough variety and quality to satisfy. We ate in the Moonlight Sonata (main dining room) on the two 'evening chic' nights - our choice was limited and first time the food was good, the second time it was poor. By the way there were enough people dressing up to make it worthwhile to take our DJ / posh frocks.

We usually retire early to our cabin and like to read. However, for a couple of nights we enjoyed a little late night dancing. Part way through the cruise we upgraded our drinks package from Classic to Premium as the wines in the former were not to our taste. However, we found when ordering drinks that we had to be insistent to ensure we received the better wines. Service in general was variable. The team looking after our cabin, sorry stateroom, could not have done a better job and individuals were equally nice but some of the other customer-facing staff were not as good. We went to one evening show but left after a couple of songs - very Wheeltappers' and Shunters'.
